About Rice protein
HYDRORICE™ rice protein is a rice-derived ingredient supplied by Protide in China for protein powders, bars and food blends. Choose RC80, RC85 or RH80 by the protein target, then compare powder handling, flavor and texture in your recipe.
- RC80 and RH80: Each grade specifies at least 80% protein on a dry basis. Compare them in your mixing process for dispersion, flavor and finished texture.
- RC85: At least 85% dry-basis protein provides a higher specified protein contribution. Its listed moisture, ash, fiber and microbiological limits match the RC80 and RH80 limits.

Rice protein applications
Protein powders
Select RC80, RC85 or RH80 for the target dry-basis protein contribution in a powder. Compare wetting, dispersion and flavor when the full blend is prepared at serving strength.
Protein shakes
Trial the named rice grade in ready-to-mix shakes. Check hydration, mouthfeel and sediment at the final protein level and pH with the complete flavor system.
Nutrition bars
Compare mixing and flavor with the chosen rice grade in the full bar recipe. Track moisture distribution and firmness through the proposed storage period.
Bakery enrichment
Evaluate rice protein in bread or baked-snack recipes at the intended inclusion level. Adjust water as needed and compare dough handling, color and finished texture.
Plant-based foods
Compare the selected rice protein in plant-based food blends. Review protein contribution and assess the effect on mixing, water addition, flavor and cooked texture.
Dry food premixes
For dry food premixes, check particle handling and blend uniformity. Test reconstitution under the finished product’s preparation instructions.

Rice protein FAQ
How do RC80, RC85 and RH80 rice proteins differ?
RC85 specifies at least 85% dry-basis protein; RC80 and RH80 each specify at least 80%. The listed moisture, ash, fiber, pH and microbiological limits are otherwise the same. Compare samples in your recipe; the specification gives no numerical solubility or viscosity difference.
Can rice protein replace pea protein in a formulation?
Rice protein can be evaluated as an alternative or as part of a plant protein blend. Replacement is recipe dependent: compare protein contribution, hydration, flavor and texture at the intended inclusion rate. A rice source alone does not establish matching performance or identical allergen and labeling requirements.
Which rice protein grade suits a higher-protein powder?
RC85 provides the higher declared protein minimum in this range. Calculate the finished-product protein level using the agreed analytical basis and the rest of your ingredients. Test powder dispersion and mouthfeel before scaling up; a higher ingredient protein percentage does not guarantee a clear drink.
What is needed to order rice protein?
Specify RC80, RC85 or RH80 and send the application, quantity and destination. The listed MOQ is 500 kg, with 20 kg PE-lined bags. Request the matching TDS, SDS and batch COA, plus any required certification documents. Confirm sample quantity, courier arrangements and dispatch timing for the selected grade before ordering.
