Overview
HydroTide® PlantK-L20C is a water-soluble plant keratin liquid for cosmetic formulation trials, supplied by Protide from China as a plant-based alternative to animal keratin. Its declared ingredients are Hydrolyzed Soybean Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein and Water.
The grade specifies at least 20% dry residue at 105°C and 2.8% nitrogen, with a pH range of 4.0-6.5. The nominal 20% designation is not a guaranteed protein assay. The TDS describes molecular weight below 2,000 Da; a slight sediment may occur.
This is a hydrolyzed plant-protein blend, not animal-derived Hydrolyzed Keratin. The INCI names and composition ranges must therefore be assessed separately from the feather-derived liquid series and HKP-P90 powder. The ingredient list alone does not establish allergen absence, gluten-free status or finished-product suitability.

Applications
Shampoos
For shampoo trials, use the PlantK-L20C TDS starting range of 0.2-2%. Evaluate the plant-protein blend with the intended surfactants, mixing sequence and complete formulation.
Conditioners
Trial PlantK-L20C in conditioners at the suggested starting range of 0.2-4%. Assess incorporation, appearance and stability with the selected conditioning system and process.

Is PlantK-L20C an animal-derived keratin ingredient?
No. PlantK-L20C is a plant-derived blend of Hydrolyzed Soybean Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein and Water. It is a keratin alternative for cosmetics, with different INCI names and composition from the feather-derived Hydrolyzed Keratin powder and liquids.
Does the 20% designation mean 20% protein?
The nominal 20% concentration is a product designation, with composition ranges listed separately. The analytical specification is at least 20% dry residue at 105°C and at least 2.8% nitrogen. These values do not provide a guaranteed protein percentage; use the grade-specific analytical limits for purchase approval.
Which application starting levels are listed?
