Overview
HydroTide® hydrolyzed keratin liquid is a water-soluble protein hydrolysate made from duck feathers for hair and skin care. Protide supplies HKP-LK10C, HKP-LK20C and HKP-LK30C from China, with Hydrolyzed Keratin and Water declared in the composition.
- HKP-LK10C: at least 10% dry residue and 1.4% nitrogen, with a pH specification of 5.0-7.0.
- HKP-LK20C: at least 20% dry residue and 2.8% nitrogen. Confirm the batch acceptance criteria for this grade before purchase.
- HKP-LK30C: at least 28% dry residue and 4.1% nitrogen. The suggested addition levels differ from the LK10C/LK20C starting levels.
The nominal 10%, 20% and 30% designations are not protein-content guarantees. Review the grade-specific limits, declared concentration ranges and application starting levels below. A slight sediment may occur. For other formats, compare HKP-P90 powder and the plant-derived alternative.

Applications
Shampoos
For shampoo trials, use the TDS starting ranges of 0.5-5% for LK10C/LK20C or 0.1-2% for LK30C. Check compatibility and appearance in the complete surfactant system.
Conditioners
Evaluate the selected liquid keratin in conditioners at 1-10% for LK10C/LK20C or 0.2-5% for LK30C. Assess incorporation and stability with the complete formula and process.
Coloring & perming pre-treatments
For coloring and perming pre-treatments, the starting ranges are 2-10% for LK10C/LK20C and 0.2-5% for LK30C. Validate compatibility and safety under the intended finished-product conditions.
Body lotions
Check incorporation, appearance and emulsion stability with the selected liquid keratin. The TDS gives no separate body-lotion dose.
Shower gels
For shower gels listed in the TDS, check the liquid grade with your surfactant blend. Assess appearance and stability during storage.
Hair-care masks

FAQ
How do the three liquid keratin grades differ?
LK10C, LK20C and LK30C specify minimum dry residues of 10%, 20% and 28%, with minimum nitrogen contents of 1.4%, 2.8% and 4.1%. The appearance, pH and ash limits also differ as shown in the table. The nominal 10%, 20% and 30% designations are not guaranteed protein concentrations.
Which addition levels apply to the liquid series?
For shampoo, the TDS suggests 0.5-5% for LK10C/LK20C and 0.1-2% for LK30C. For conditioner, it lists 1-10% and 0.2-5%, respectively. Coloring and perming pre-treatment starting levels are 2-10% and 0.2-5%. Confirm compatibility, stability and finished-product safety through your formulation trials.
Does the liquid SDS also cover keratin powder or PlantK?
No. The liquid-series SDS covers only HKP-LK10C, HKP-LK20C and HKP-LK30C. HKP-P90 powder and PlantK are excluded and have their own TDS and SDS. Match the ordered grade to the document scope before supplier approval or shipment.
What packing and purchasing information is available?
The current liquid TDS lists a 20 kg net plastic drum and storage in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. It does not state a shelf-life duration. Confirm shelf life, LK20C batch acceptance criteria, order quantity and delivery requirements in the quotation.
