About Pea starch
Protide supplies white pea starch in bulk from China for food-processing trials. The specification covers whiteness, fineness, moisture, ash and microbiology. Agree any starch-content assay or pasting profile needed for your process separately.
- Powder quality: Whiteness is at least 90, and at least 99 g/100 g passes 150 µm. Whiteness is an optical measure rather than a starch-purity percentage.
- Process and declaration: Test hydration, cooking and texture in the intended recipe. Confirm the precise starch treatment and ingredient declaration required for your destination.

Specifications apply only to the named grade and supplied physical form. Not detected is not a numerical zero; not specified means no limit is supplied. Confirm the agreed test methods and use the batch COA for batch acceptance.
Pea starch applications
Cooked sauces
Evaluate pea starch in cooked sauces at the intended water ratio and heating profile. Compare viscosity and appearance after the actual shear, cooling and storage conditions.
Noodles and pasta
Check hydration and dough handling with the specified pea starch, then compare cooking behavior and the finished noodle or pasta texture.
Processed meat
Test pea starch in processed meat with the full protein system. Compare mixing, cooking behavior and texture at the intended inclusion level.
Plant-based foods
Use pea starch alongside plant proteins in food trials. Record water addition and processing conditions while assessing the structure and texture of the complete recipe.
Gelled food systems
For gelled foods, test pea starch through heating, cooling and storage. Agree any gel-strength test and acceptance limit required for your process.
Food premixes
Check pea starch in dry food premixes for blending and reconstitution. Confirm the processing identity and ingredient declaration applicable to the chosen grade and destination.

Pea starch FAQ
Does a whiteness value of 90 mean 90% starch purity?
No. Whiteness is an optical quality measurement and is separate from a chemical starch-purity assay. The supplied specification also lists fineness, moisture, ash, pH and microbiological limits. If a starch-content assay or specific pasting profile is required, agree those measurements separately for the ordered grade.
Is this pea starch a native or a modified starch?
Confirm whether the quoted grade is native or modified, including its processing description and ingredient declaration for your destination. The quality table alone does not establish the legal ingredient name in every market. Use the confirmed identity on labels and import documents.
How should I test pea starch in a cooked food system?
Use your normal water ratio, heating profile, shear and cooling conditions, then assess viscosity, gel or texture and storage behavior. Record the starch grade and inclusion level in the trial. The quality specification does not provide a universal cooking temperature, gel strength or freeze-thaw performance guarantee.
What is needed to order pea starch?
Request the food-grade pea starch specification and provide your application, quantity and destination. The listed MOQ is 500 kg, with 25 kg bags. Confirm the processing identity and ingredient declaration, then request the matching TDS, SDS and batch COA. Agree any required starch-content or pasting measurements separately.
